Shape Animals

Let’s end our introduction to shapes with a shapes art project. Print one or all of the shape papers below. Then cut out the shapes and glue them onto a separate piece of paper to create the shape animals: circle cat, square bird, triangle puppy, and rectangle snail. Use markers/pencil crayons/crayons to add colour, features, and details.

Activity #2c: Place Value: Beat That! dice game

What is place value? Place value can be defined as the value represented by a digit in a number on the basis of its position in the number.

In the number 2 , 3 4 9 the 9 is in the ones place/position so it represents 9, the 4 is in the tens place so it represents 40, the 3 is in the hundreds place so it represents 300, and the 2 is in the thousands place so it represents 2,000. Notice there is a comma , between the thousands and the hundreds.

The game you are going to play will help you practise place value. Plus, it is a lot of fun!

Here are the directions you can print out.
